Madden 25 Passing Types Explained

Classic Passing (Easiest Complexity): This is the passing style that has been in the Madden series for years and is also the easiest one that can be chosen. It relies heavily on the stats and abilities of the players and won’t require any placement or accuracy meters when the quarterback is throwing, make sure to snatch up one of the best QBs in the game, such as Patrick Mahomes. You need lots of coins to obtain him, we recommend you buy coins madden 25 from on U4GM, not only cheap but also 100% legal. You can also use code “Mods” for an extra 5% off now!

Placement (Medium Complexity): It could be argued that Placement is the next step up from the Classic passing style in terms of how complex it is. This is because players can control the accuracy of their throws in this system much more than in the Classic option. It gives players the chance to use the left stick and aim their throw, not having to worry about the accuracy that is being put behind the throw.

Placement & Accuracy (High Complexity): This is the last passing style and the one that offers the most complex way to pull off a throw. In this mode, players will use the left stick to place their pass in the right spot while also using a meter to establish how accurate the pass is. When the meter is green, this means the pass will be perfectly accurate, while it is possible to both undercharge and overcharge the throw to cause the throw to be off.

We recommend testing out all three in practice mode to determine which feels best to you. However, Placement & Accuracy really is the best option for anyone willing to practice. It may take a little more time for people to master, but it makes the game feel more immersive and deep. When players do click with the passing style, it becomes so much more fulfilling to pull off these passes.

A touch pass is your standard pass in Madden 25. The best time to use a touch pass is when you find a receiver wide open or if you’re simply running a screenplay. Touch passes are the most accurate, so there’s no reason to use any other pass in these situations.

A lob pass is when the QB throws the ball high up into the air, mostly leading to the receiver having to jump up and get it. The best time to throw a lob pass is on verticals or long downfield passes. Using the lob pass in these situations increases the chance of the ball floating past the defenders, giving your receiver a chance to jump up and catch the ball. It’s a very risky pass to throw, so make sure you’re certain before attempting it.

To throw a low pass, your Quarterback will throw a pass very close to the ground, giving your opponent’s defender fewer opportunities to catch the ball. This type of pass is used in quick plays to gain a few extra yards.

A bullet is the fastest pass you can throw in Madden 25 and it gets the ball to the receiver the quickest, reducing the chance of interception or a knockdown. The best time to use a bullet pass is on quick routes, such as slants or curls.

Throwing the ball away is when the QB throws the ball out of bounds and into the sidelines. The best time to throw the ball away is when you can’t find any receiver and the line is collapsing, potentially leading to a sack. If you feel that you’re about to lose yards when the QB has the ball, then go ahead and throw the ball away.

The pump fake move is perfect to make extra space for a potential QB run or change pass direction. After this, your Quarterback will perform the animation as if he’s about to throw a pass to a receiver but will stop just before releasing the ball. This will bait the defense toward the selected receiver, opening up another receiver to catch the ball. This will also create a bit extra space that your QB can take advantage of to gain yards by running.

We hope this guide has helped you improve your passing game in Madden 25! Best of luck!
